MODE ECO MOOD HOTEL was born in Rimini, a concrete example of hospitality designed according to the principles of sustainable development. The project takes shape from the redevelopment of the former Hotel Arlesiana, in the San Giuliano Mare area, and involves 13 of the most important architectural firms specializing in hotels, called to interpret the concept of eco-conscious hospitality.
Each room is a unique microcosm: an experiential space that reflects each designer’s personal vision of sustainability. The result is a permanent hotel-showroom, designed to inspire and guide the future of hospitality.
A real laboratory for the future of hospitality.
MODE HOTEL presents itself as a hub of innovation for the hotel sector, a place where concrete and replicable solutions can be tested in terms of design, management and sustainable communication. As Mauro Santinato, President of Teamwork Hospitality and creator of the project, points out:

In this context, Saviola is part of the ideal partner for the supply of an eco-friendly, circular product suitable for interior design. Chosen by 8 architectural firms involved in the project, the Saviola Ecological Panel® was available in wood finishes, in particular the register pore nuts with warm tones and solid colours were chosen. Let’s see the projects in detail.
Right at the entrance we are greeted by a Saviola walnut boiserie in register with the application of a green screen print. Entrance on the ground floor, the stairs and services on the ground floor are designed by Laura Verdi. The title of the project “Stai cozy in una second life”. “It’s a play on words between Italian and English that means: feel comfortable in a second life, recover and reuse as much as possible, don’t waste current resources”. A sustainability project that translates not only into the recycling and reuse of materials but also a sustainability extended to the well-being of the person, amplifying the concept of the relationship between man and nature with the use of bio-geometric and floral designs and inserting elements of greenery such as tillandsia plants, which feed on the humidity present in the air and purify it by eliminating pollutants.
By taking a few steps you enter GEA – in the world of Wonders, a co-working area on the ground floor designed by HUB48.
The concept takes inspiration from two distinct but fascinating worlds: on the one hand the vitality of the Earth goddess, on the other the enchanted and timeless atmosphere of “Alice in Wonderland”. “The goal is to find the balance between these two seemingly distant worlds. Our representation of the pristine environment breaks away from the use of traditional green tones, instead embracing a more organic and fluid palette, with a particular focus on the first source of life: water”. The common spaces of this hotel are transformed into a sustainable co-working environment, where the perfection of the golden ratio and the natural balance guide every aspect of the design in a welcoming and harmonious atmosphere, which fosters creativity and collaboration. The Saviola product is used to set up the sneak and breakfast counter and the TV area.
The suites
MODE Hotel hosts nine different types of suites, designed by nine architecture studios, customized with precise themes, each with its own concept, but united by a sustainable design style.
On the ground floor, the Garden Suite designed by ROBERTA STUDIO welcomes guests in a solution designed to make the guest live a wellness experience, with particular attention to the planet, also thanks to the collaboration with B Corp companies and with a vision that places sustainability at the center. Designed according to the principles of biophilic design, the suite takes organic forms of nature, colors inspired by a seaside city, and eco-sustainable and natural materials, adding a touch of bright and extraordinary green in every room.
“It is necessary that we, as designers and architects, propose solutions in which inside and outside dialogue and contaminate each other, to create spaces capable of uniting design, nature and sustainability, generating well-being in those who live there.” Exemplary Saviola panel and laminate workmanship in the wardrobes with soft and welcoming shapes.
On the first floor we find the Estate Italiana suite, the MODE suite by OTTO studio, born from the creativity of Paola Navone and Gian Paolo Venier and under the artistic direction of Cristina Pettenuzzo, the From Rimini to Habana suite whose original concept was developed in the context of a workshop of the School of Design of the Polytechnic of Milan and the Onirica suite, designed by Eclettico Design-Lombardini 22.
The Estate Italiana suite tells of that carefree way of experiencing the summer holiday on the Riviera, an up-to-date homage to the uniqueness of Rimini’s hospitality, with a clear reference to the postcards that were sent from the holidays, taken up in the headboard of the bed. “In this project, we want to put the human being at the center, talking about social sustainability. Respect for production, artisan work and the time that the craftsman dedicates, therefore the quality of life of those who produce the objects we use”. The red of the kitchen made in a solid color Saviola welcomes the guest at the entrance with an infusion of good mood pop style.
In the suite “From Rimini to Habana” the Rimini Riviera meets Cuban tradition.
Rimini and Havana return together in the 1960s, to give a lively and joyful atmosphere to Mode guests. Customized wallpaper on a work by Cuban artist Raul Valdes González, which lines the wall facing the entrance, emotionally characterizes the beginning of the suite’s use.
In the living room, bedroom and bathroom everything recalls the warm and enveloping atmosphere of Havana: from the materials of the furnishings and accessories to the recovery of vintage objects up to the geometric textures and brilliant colors connecting, at the same time, to the joyful and carefree atmospheres of the Romagna Riviera and contemporary design.
A creative suite, attentive to sustainability in its choices, in line with the philosophy of reuse typical of Cuban culture, but also emblematic of a sustainable approach in the name of the “Second Hand”. Boiserie and kitchen in petrol green, cobalt blue and red tones are a contribution to the Ecological Panel® Saviola. Because sustainability is also colour.
The second floor houses the Greensidesuites, designed by the ne[s]t di Paolo Scoglio e Paola Börner, Mare 3.0 designed by GLA Genius Loci Architettura, and the Sensi suite designed by ovre.design®
Greenside is the “green side” but also the “green inside”, a revolutionary vision of a sustainable suite. The key word is hybridization of spaces that become fluid, with blurred boundaries. The design is hyper-minimalist and parametric: it imitates nature through design algorithms that design organic, almost sculptural spaces.
The suite ceases to be just a container that hosts, becoming a total architecture in which physical space merges with furnishings, lighting and user experience. Continuous lines, plastically modeled, inspired by nature, a futuristic but warm treasure chest, an experiential place where living, natural and recycled materials are reinterpreted and re-proposed in a minimal green style inspired by the most advanced bio-mimetic design.
The suite is covered with Ecological Panel® in a synchro walnut version, in the warm color contrasting with the optical white of the boiserie.
The Sensi suite, designed by ovre.design® is not just a destination: it’s a journey.

Through conscious design, which embraces eco-sustainable processes and materials, a place takes shape where attention to the planet is intertwined with that to the well-being of the individual.
Those who enter the Sensi suite disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with themselves.
It is an invitation to listen to one’s five senses, to rediscover the connection with nature and to rediscover the essentiality of matter. Each element, carefully chosen, is recycled or recyclable: nothing is left to chance, everything participates in a greater harmony. The use of panel and coordinated laminate in the register pore finish of the hot walnut that permeates the ceiling in the part corresponding to the bed and at the entrance is very pleasant.
We go up to the third floor where we are welcomed by the Silenzio Sfrenato suite designed by the NOA studio and the Mini’mor suite designed by Alessia Galimberti & Partners.
Mini’mor is a sustainable hospitality project that focuses attention on the concept of discreet luxury. Geometric shapes and chromatic gradations with soft tones give the spaces a sense of harmony. A polite, balanced and rigorous design that through art forms an authentic synergy, giving a second life to objects. Furthermore, it teaches that sustainability must be a global duty that needs immediate action and can no longer be postponed. The entire space is furnished with Ecological Panel® boiserie coordinated with the furnishings for a feeling of strong continuity.
A sustainable hospitality project that focuses attention on the concept of discreet luxury. NOA in the design of the suite Silenzio Sfrenato interprets the idea of respect for the environment underlying the MODE project in this way: working only with the indispensable, eliminating what we consider superfluous in a hotel room, which could generate visual “noise” and divert attention from the true essence of design.
The furnishings offered to guests are of quality, with an artisanal flavor and aim for durability over time. And so that the stay becomes a unique experience, NOA furnishes the room with few but signature elements, staging the exclusivity of the design. “Playing on the adjective ‘unbridled’, often combined with ‘luxury’ in a baroque and exaggerated sense of the concept, we turn the sense of the term upside down in this room, while keeping the promise of high quality and staging a sophisticated design for those staying in the room.” The entire suite is covered with eco-panel® boiserie. Walls and furnishings blend into a single color and a single delicate texture reminiscent of a natural fabric.
